Erez Katz is an accomplished serial entrepreneur and a C-level executive with a proven track record of effective leadership, instilling operation efficiencies and driving profitable growth.
Erez is the active CEO and Co-Founder of Lucena research and was instrumental in architecting and designing Lucena’s flagship product QuantDesk®. Today, Erez shares his expertise in applying Lucena’s technology to help investment professionals generate Alpha, minimize risk via portfolio optimization and construct new portfolios using predictive analytics and machine learning technology.
Erez is an expert in managing and driving sustainable and profitable growth of businesses of various sizes and maturity levels. He also brings deep experience in applying technology to efficiently solve complex business challenges.
Erez is an active Angel Investor and an executive advisor for early stage start-ups and mature businesses where he implements proper disciplines, strategies and execution plans. Erez is also an active Angel Investor at ATA (Atlanta Technology Angels), and a mentor at Flashpoint, a Georgia Tech early stage start-up accelerator program. Erez also serves on several advisory boards and is an active member at the American Israeli Chamber of Commerce.
From 2010 through the middle of 2011, Erez served as Bridgeline Digital (BLIN/NASDAQ) Chief Operating Officer where he was responsible for six geographically dispersed business units and the enterprise’s sales force. Erez reported directly to the CEO and was heavily involved in the company’s North American merger and acquisition endeavors.
In 2007, Erez was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Bridgeline Atlanta. During this time, Erez and the Atlanta business unit consistently delivered the highest gross profit margins and above average profitability of the company’s seven business units.
In 1996, Erez founded Objectware Inc., a custom web and mobile application development company. Objectware carried and excellent reputation as it served hundreds of businesses in different stages and sizes helping them to apply technology to solve their respective business challenges. Erez served as the President until 2007, when the company was acquired by Bridgeline Digital (BLIN/NASDAQ).
Prior to 1996 Erez served as a software developer, senior architect and a tech lead implementing large software projects. Some of this clients include: MCI/Worldcom, Bell South, Turner Broadcasting System, Delta Airlines, Johnson and Higgins and more.
Erez holds a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration degree from Baruch College in New York City (1993).
